The work
From AI research to public policy.
I study intelligence and build the institutions that help others work on it.
I direct the Wits MIND Institute and RAIL Lab, co-founded the Deep Learning Indaba, and chair an independent expert panel assisting the development of South Africa’s national AI policy. I am a Fellow in CIFAR’s Learning in Machines & Brains programme.
